HTML troubles. Anyone know a good tutorial for learning HTML?

I have the latest version of dreamweaver, but it just seems easier to work directly with html. that, and it's just really damn useful to know how. Any suggestions?HTML troubles. Anyone know a good tutorial for learning HTML?

I am in an HTML class and honestly the book we use HTML and XHTML is like the bible of HTML the isbn is 061926747X. I suggest buying that. My project in the class it to create a webpage and working with plain HTML is easier than an editor. I tried coffe cup but it was too confusing. Plain code in notepad is the best!

I love this one because it has a vocabulary section and a practice area where you can change their examples and see on the screen how it changes the text.

You are smarter than most for taking this approach..learning to code and using Dreamweaver are two entirely different things.
